Quick Question

I was going to take my Dash tin off for some well needed rejuvenation, but how does the hydro control lever come off? Is there a set screw in it...I can't see it that well my freeking eyes don't work like they used to!

Thanks Tim I thought that's what it was...but I need to make a trip to the eye doc and get some new lenses. No matter how much light I put on it I couldn't tell what it was

Maybe it is not in there, did you try using the correct allen wrench in there?
You can feel around in there for it.

They can be a PITA to get off. I managed to get the set screw out of mine but the splines on the inside of the lever had worn so I ended up drilling a hole through the top of the lever, put a socket head bolt through the hole and used a puller to get it off. When I put it back together I drilled through the set screw hole, the shaft and out the other side of the lever and tapped it for a socket head bolt. Not pretty but it works.

Thanks for posting the "picture story". I have not had to remove it from my 149 yet. But, the tin needs replacing. So, eventually....

Thanks Sam...I managed to get to it...been fighting a freeking cold all weekend. I had to put the cheaters on to see it better. I was bit tough coming off the splines but is popped loose after a few colorful adjectives...
