Advice on getting rid of moles

We have a mole problem in our back yard , I'm afraid the little devils might kill our big willow tree. The dogs haven't gotten them yet, any advice on getting rid of them? Have heard of using black pepper, soda pop, vinegar and backing soda, garden hose and drowning them, cayanne pepper. Was curious on what others have done.

On a serious note I've heard poisoned worms work great.
I've got a bad mole problem and have been thinking about trying them

Lol! Yeah could give bill a try! Thought about poison , but with the dogs it would be a bad idea.

Spray area with Bifen XTS.
Kills virtually all insects including the grubs the moles are looking for.

Have you done the drowning with garden hose with the dogs waiting for them to pop out?
Our dogs went plum crazy everytime I drug the garden hose out for anything after the first wack-mole suicide by beagle event.

Guess I could try garden hose / 12ga 00 buckshot event! Except the neighbors might freak out! Lol

I've pretty much killed the mole food supply. Not done yet but much better. Put this stuff on at about 4 times the recommended rate Spectracide Triazicide. Have to admit that the Rodenator sounded like fun.

I maintain the parks and cemetery for the city. I only use the poison worms, and they work great. Watch the mole hill areas, stick a screw down in the hole in multiple runs and make a hole. Flag each hole you make. Come back in 24 to 48 hours and check your flags. If the hole you made is fixed then it is an active run. Stick the screw driver back in the hole to make a small opening large enough to drop a worm in. I even go back and check in another 48 hours to see if the worm is gone. It is amazing how many worms they can eat. Also, wear rubber or latex gloves to hide your scent while doin this. The only time I have had trouble is with moles that don't go back any of their original mounds.

I have one area that the little Bastar-s have made a mess of so they will get to meet the "Tiller" come spring time. Going to grind them into fertilizer. How do you like me now? :biggrin2:
