My 982D build

ok this thread is gonna take a while but here goes
got the 2082 tore down for sand and paint... not a fan of the rockshafts and brake shafts have one i couldnt get out at all are these powder coated? the sander dont like it |

this kinda sucks since the seller said hydro is fine... anyone ever welded one of these? i think ill give it a try if it dont work out i have the one from the 782D. looks like im gonna have to put in another order to extreme. ill post again when i have more pics as the build goes on

finally got enuff paint off now to blast the flash rust out used stripper in a spray can worked pretty good but took several attempts in some places

Is it a IH 982 (79-81) or a CCC 982 (82-85) ? This is a rare and nice bird, founding implements for it most be a PITA. Of all CC this is the one I wish I own brand new and an original of course :-)

This thread tittle is confusing but the mistake is mine since you clearly specify stripping a 2082 frame in your first post. It's a interesting build to follow and a unique bird repro.
I wonder what diesel engine ICC or CCC may have swap in the 982 if they had build one? What was available between 79 to 86? I bet they fit at less a 16 to 20hp if they could. |
