Thoughts on 682+1811
The more I look at the 682 the more I want to keep it. I like my 1811 but the 682 just looks so tough. The 682 I was told the motor quit running. But haven't tried to start it yet. I bought it just for the 3 point hitch and few other parts that are better than the ones on my 1811.
So here is my idea. I have one 1811 that I had bought for parts but runs fine just a little rougher then my first 1811. What if I take the hydraulic lift off the 1811 and put on 682. Also switch over the m18 to the 682. I'd have the best of both worlds. Cast iron rear end , strong m18, hydraulic lift and a tough looking red tractor. Okay let's here the pro's and con's. |
Well, then you'd have a 682 with a Mag. I don't see any cons here....... :bigthink:
Except you'd only have 2 tractors instead of 3!! :biggrin2::biggrin2: |
I say go for it!:beer2:

I think the choice is obvious - I'd go for the red machine with a Mag and hydraulics any day! :beerchug:

Did I read here that the wiring was different going from the 17hp to the m18? Are their any other mod's I should watch out for?
|
I'd do it! Love the looks of the red cubs!

I agree...sounds like the way to go, and you'll basically now have a 782 with a Mag in it...not to mention the 3 pt hitch!

Using the wiring from the 1811 might be a good idea. The 1811 has a magneto ignition, where the KT is point/condenser. The magneto doesn't require twelve volts off the key to generates the spark.

Just figured out I need to switch the Hydro unit, correct. Will it go from the 1811 to the 682?
