Keepin' my filter clean (air)
Guys,
So it's fall and I did a low cut on the bermuda lawn and pulverize some leaves. Until the govener spring failed.. worked like a charm. Anyway, I'm cutting corner which are a dust bowel. I check the filter and the housing is stuffed solid with grass and debris. Is this normal- just check it and wash everytime before use? The engine is caking with fine dirt. Do you just hose it off? Is there a best way to back flush the cooling fins on my 1650? Michael |
If it were mine I would get as much dirt off the machine with air pressure.

I've always used my air compressor and blow gun after it cools a bit. Do it after every mow or any Jo. I do with it and it works.great. turn the regulator to about 20 psi to blow the filter out and crank it for everything else

+2 on the air hose, I use no water, EVER on the mower/engine.
I use the air hose @ #110 to reverse blow out the paper element on all my equipment, and blow out the ureathane pre-filters ( if so equipped) then wash in gas, when dry, treat with FFT filter oil. Yea it's messy but it does the job,and i have yet to replace a paper filter. |
