Carb problem????
Hey guys i need some expertise and maybe a miracle...
My 1450 which i have not been able to get running (well), so i finally brought it to my buddies shop (he is a John Deere dealer). Anyways he through another carb on my tractor and she ran fine! So they want to sell me a carb for $325. well i would love to throw a new carb on, but i dont have the money to. So my question is: can i fix this carb? He said it is worn out and she is getting too much air in or something. Or should i try and find a used carb? if so where? Also, on my coil the bottom nut is stripped and the nut will not stay on tight anymore. What can i do? I appreciate all your help in advance. |
It is hard to say without knowing more info, but I would guess that it is getting too much air around the throttle shaft? Which there is a couple of different fixes for it, but really need to know more.

as long as you are at it, get a rebuild kit for yours and have some fun!!! |
I think it's the main throttle flapper. It moves up and down.

carb problem
try to see if its a carter or warbro ,if warbro, dont fool with it .and get a carter , 26 or 28 or number 30 ,look in side the bore of the carb ,and it should say one of the numbers listed ,if it has numbers in the 50s ,its a warbro .now if your carb is leaking around the throttle shaft ,it can be repaired ,with a bushing ,or sometimes with a plastic washer .there is a brake down ,how to repair this in the kohler manual .hope this helps .David

Yeah I thought 325 seemed a bit steep.
