D640 Glow Plugs
Decided to replace the glow plugs in the ole' 1782 before snow. What do ya'll suggest?
|
Found some on Ebay, and Xtreme...But they are both for D600's. Anyone know if they take the same plugs?
|
They are different. The D600 takes Kubota #15951-65512 but the D640 takes a #15694-65512. I would take one out and take it to NAPA or a good autoparts store to cross it over. The D600 ones are about $7 to $8 each.

I did see the different part numbers, but I just figured that they would be the same pieces. :bash2: |
Kinda interesting that they take different glow plugs. Basically the same engine just different specs (bore, etc.). Gotta do the glowplug updates to my 782 and 1772. Never woulda guessed the plugs were different.

I didn't know either. I looked them up on Parts Tree. I need to do my D640 also so let us know how you make out.

I need to do the same for my D-600 , also need to swap out the key switch.

1772 glow plugs
If you go to the Cub Cadet Parts lookup and check the part number for the glow plugs.
You will find it is the same number in a Kubota parts lookup If you go to a marine sales outlet for Kubota engines you will find the same part number only cheaper This may work for the 1782 as well The 15694-65510 was super to the 65512 for the 1772 Joe |
I don't know. I looked at Parts Tree, Cub Cadet and Messicks and they show the D640 using the 15694-65512 for $63.20 and the D600 using 15951-65512 for $27.69. I need to call Kubota and see what's going on.

I got the glow plugs for my D600 (1572) from Rock Auto NGK brand #347 2031. Were very inexpensive, I think around $6.00 each.
