Battery not charging

My Cub cadet 1250 hydro is not charging the battery ,or it is, but something else is going on. I asked this same question on another forum and someone suggested it could have something to do with the electric PTO clutch.

I had tested the electrical system and it seemd to be doing what it supposed to. I have not tested the PTO clutch which works just fine.

Heres a typical way the problem shows itself. A brand new battery with a full charge , start up and cut grass fo a hour , turn off and minutes later attempt to restart but battery is dead. I have replaced the battery every year for the last five years.

I'd suspect the switch...get it started and "wiggle" the key as you watch the amp meter. I had that problem once.

Just checking to see, you did check the stator output with a multimeter?

I will check the switch, Yes, I checked the electrical output, it was right on.
