Ignition Battle help

Sorry I haven't been posting too much for quite some time but work has me in a state of never ending busy :bash2:

But I am now in that "should've did a re-build" time of ownership I think.. A while back the 682 started shutting off on me, and not wanting to restart. Sometimes it would do it with the pto on only, then only with lights off. I ordered a new ignition switch from one of the local dealers. I know I have 2 wiring diagrams show different wiring for the IH and CCC models. When he stated that it was the same part number I kind of wanted to not go with that. I looked into it and sure enough it is...Well I went to get it Friday and sure enough, same prong layout ect. As soon as I put the wire plug on she turns over and lights are on????????? :Swear::Swear::Swear::Swear::Swear:

What am I missing here???

The Ignition Switch for all serial number ranges for the 682 is 725-3021.

IF everything on your 682 is factory original, then it should work.

Part number is a match..
The plug which I thought was melted on one corner is in fact completely missing in the center. I should have time to look further into it this afternoon. I am hoping that the connectors "missed" and went between prongs on the switch and made contact with each other is all it is. I am going to call the NAPA store later to see if they would have the right one to replace it, if not will order thru the CC dealer I guess..

Thanks Roland :beerchug:

If the Molex plug connector on the Ignition Switch Harness is compromised in any way, then any combination of issues can arise.

Back up and running :beer2: Thanks Roland....

Spent the odd and rare day off mowing, then tossed the plow on the back and turned last years food plot. It is for sure dryer than a popcorn fart up here! was running 6" or so deep and bone dry!
