Brought the 149 home Finally

So I went to my brothers this weekend, to get the new to me, 149. The tractor wouldn't start, as the replaced ignition switch was the wrong one. So we jumped it from the coil to the gen and the battery and it worked well. Got it home and was doing some looking into, and assessing the damage. Well I need 2 pulleys for the mule drive, two belts for mule and deck. 2 belts for the #1 tiller. a Rear cover gasket as the one that was on it started leaking when I mounted the tiller gear box. DOUh. the tires that are on it ar 10.50s which explains why they rub on the 42in deck. so Ill put my 8.50 on it for summer mowing and the 10.50s with chains for winter use. the hydro release lever is borken and the hydro fan as well. Good news is that she doesn't smoke, and the hydro fluid looked great. So with that well see when the parts come in, how she runs. I tried to get her to run around the yard but it wouldn't run at full throttle with the hydro fully engaged to the fasted speed even after warmed up. thought it might be the lack of a battery. the points looked good but I didn't check timing yer. that little cover is a bugger to get back on. Will replace with Allen Heads soon. There ya have it.

The points cover is a pain! While I had the engine out I filed a small recess in the frame so I can get the bottom screw in and out. I don't think it will be a stress point for the frame and should make setting the points much easier. Allen heads are a good idea!
