If your tach. Is like mine there is a wire that goes to the ground and one that you fuse with the wire that runs to the positive side of the coil so you have power to the tach when you turn the switch on. The pick wire from the tach. goes to the negative side of the coil or there is another wire that you can clamp on the plug wire. I found the pick up wire to the coil works better. Than there should be a setting for a one of two cylinder engine and the instruction bookle from your tach. should tell you how to set that.

An auto tach will typically have settings for 4, 6, or 8 cylinders and therefore won't work in this application.

Would like some info on that tach. Model#,where did you get it? So that should work with a V twin with a mag? I wonder if the pickup wire would work off the kill wire on the V twin or would you have to use clamp on plug wire? Thanks Mike:bigthink:

I got the tach at O' riely's autoparts. Im not sure of the model or how you would hook it up to a twin. It is the same tach. that midwest super cub used to sell.
