Restoration of my "Original"
6 Attachment(s)
Hi,
After a time of delay, I began to restore my 61 Cub Cadet Original. Few Months ago, I parted the Cub for storing in. After that, I parted the Motor, and the Transmission. The Motor needs rebuilt, and the transmission was full of water, and rusty inside. The Front Axle Spindles got new bolts, and new bushings. Few Weeks ago, I got a set of good used Rear Fenders for my "O", Decals, and a new set of tires. This Week, I got new set of ball joints, Carb kit, breaker points, and condenser from the States. Last Monday, I brought a lot of parts to the Sandblaster. http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=6628 mfg Georg |

This week, I found a used Kohler Power Unit, with a Kohler K 181 Motor, for parts. The Motor has Hand Start, and Magneto Ignition. Yesterday, I received them.
20 Minutes after open the box, and pulling out the motor, I had a visitor. Look at the pics, I think, you will be laughing, how i. I want to make a Hand Start Model of my "Original", mfg Georg :Cub8::Cub1: |
Talk about snail mail! Sweet pics as always!
Congrats on your pull start Georg! |

So far so good. Your aquiring good parts but I don't think you can use the cadet engine for pull start with the parts you have. The 7 and 8 hp coils are different(so I've heard). You'll also need the flywheel.

Are you sure, do you know the Differents between the Coils of the 7 and 8 HP Engines? I don't find anything of it, in the Service Manual of the Kohler Engines.
I have the Flywheels ofboth Engines, mfg Georg |
