Parts Donor
4 Attachment(s)
Well I found this 1806 yesterday. Went and picked it up today, It's been sitting for several years. The clutch went big time and the guy though the motor went so he parked it. The tins are in good shape just faded from sitting outside in the sun. The tractor has 502 hours on it. I had a little time so I checked compression and it has lots of compression. The clutch is completly distroyed. But I don't care about that. This one is going to be a donor for the 784 the 18 mag is going in it, I'm going to change the harness and everything into 784 so it should be an easy swap. It has a aluminum creeper, that's headed for the 582 :biggrin2:. And it has a very well built homemade spring assist on it, which will find it's way onto the 1282 someday. The tins are nice and the seat is in good shape. I should have everything I need to breath life back into the 784. :biggrin2: Going to try to get it running later after baseball practice. I'll let you guys know what I make out. Oh yea $300 bucks with a 50" deck

Awesome find, Eric!

Nice looking 1806 Eric!!!
|
Thanks guys. Look at those picture's good because that's the last tme that tractor will look like that! It's already torn apart. I'm headed down to see if I can get it fired up.
|
Nice find, That is only the 3rd 1806 I have seen. If the dash is nice I would be interested in it, if you don't have plans for it already. The one on mine is pretty bad.
|
Eric,
You get that M18 into that 784 already?! |
Gotta love those twin cylinders !! I would have bought it for the motor also.
BTW , the hood ornament is backards ??!! |
Eric, you're going at it the wrong way! What you NEED to do is put the 1806 driveline in the 582 with a stiffer clutch spring and then you'll really have something. just keep the cast rearend in it.

AJ, Problem is I need the motor for the 784. The clutch form the 1806 was trashed big time. I don't think any of it could be saved. I'm really looking forward to the 18 mag in the 784. Well here's what it looks like tonight. Went through the carb and drained all the water from the fuel system, Had to get the starter to engage. and she fired right up:biggrin2::beer2:. No smoke sounds great. Still need to go though it better and get it tuned up yet, but she runs good. I need to replace the oil lines they both are leaking from around the fittings pretty bad, but I'm not complaning. The dang steering wheel popped off with almost no effort what so ever. Took he nut off, lifted on it for a few seconds and off if came. Love that wish the one on the 784 would come off that easy:bash2:. |

Well this is what it looks like today. I need to go buy an oil line for the motor, and few things to tune it up. Going to try to have it ready to put in next Wed. I'm swapping out the front axle and steering column and changing the wheels and tires around. I got the tins from the 1806 cleaned up and installed on the 782, I'm using the hood from 782 but that's it. I can't wait to get the motor into it. Joe I'll send you a picture of the dash and you can let me know what you think. I still have a hinge here for you to.

:beerchug: It looks great on there! how much work was it to put it back into nice shape? did you do anything about the crack?
|
Hey Eric,
What tractor is in the background?? Looks like a 122/123?! Don't see that in your sig! |
Dan, I just cleaned it up with some rubbing compound, and just left the crack alone can't even see it.
Mike, That's Tim's 102. I have the 1806 in his garage. That 1282 on CL is very nice! Are you planning a road trip, lol. |
OK Eric.
No roadtrip for me! I have more then enough to keep me busy! The 1282 would look good next to your 1282!! |

Actually no. I've never been divorced. Been married for almost 3 years now. Did it the smart way and waited till I was 34 to get married.
