Nice work on the 1200  |
very beautiful 1200! i am currently rebuilding a 1200 that was a twice abandoned project, by two other people. i have it running, moving, cutting grass, etc.... but am completely lost in how IH ran throttle, and choke cables to engine. i know im missing parts, but in my best guess the choke cable came to the carb from the top. Is this correct? would you please share some cable run pics carb side? thank you for your help

2 more questions
if you dont mind
what air filter is for the k301aqs? right now i have my 104 air filter assembly on the 1200 with that side cover off.... which brings me to my next question. what are the tabs with holes for (in front near hood hinge ) on top of the side covers? is there supposed to be a rod to tie them together to keep them from rattling and making more noise than not having them at all? i dont use the factory exhaust, so wouldn't know if there would even be room for a rod across that area. |
There is supposed to be a spring that runs across between the 2 engine covers. I got one at Ace that fit perfect. Only cost $2 also! :beerchug:
|
sweet! that spring makes sense. its a pain trying to guess all the missing parts.
thanks |
Here are a few pictures on the spring:
http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s.../800/80003.jpg Its kinda hard to see....look under the IH emblem. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...800/800104.jpg This is on my 800. |
That spring also seems pretty handy as a snack holder; can just grab a pretzel while mowing. And they'll be nice and hot! :)

This is what the 800 look like before the restoration started: http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s.../800/80006.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s.../800/80004.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s.../800/80002.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s.../800/80005.jpg It is easier to move the 800 around and keep the special parts for it in the motor compartment. |
