They made me buy it 106
1 Attachment(s)
I had a few minutes to search Craigslist today, came across a cub sitting in the weeds. I called, the lady on the phone, said she would take $100 with the blade, $75 without. I got her address, figured the rear ag tires were worth that. I didn't realize it had the deck and the bracket and rockshaft for a sleeve hitch. I now have a tractor for my second grandchild :)

Good deal!

Lucky you, Super deal!...

Nice score.

That GT is in really good shape for sitting out in the elements, you could get your money's worth 10 different ways to Sunday with that thing if needed.
|
I hope to get to mess with it a little bit this weekend. The steering is locked up, so I sprayed the spindles and linkages with penetrating oil and see what happens. It is my first narrow frame. I saw the nearly new ag tires and rockshaft and sleeve hitch bracket on the back, so it was a no brainer. He also showed me a photo of a rear blade that he had, but I couldn't tell if it was a front blade that had been cut and welded into a rear one, or if it was made that way. I had never seen a rear blade for an old cub before. I am going to go back and get it when he gets it home.

front rims size for 4.00-8 tires
I have the 16-6-50 8 tires on the front, and would like to replace with the 480-8 tri-ribs. I've seen a photo of the tri-ribs on my current rims and I'm not a fan. What size rim am I looking for and where would I find it? I don't even have it running yet, but the front tires are so rotted they won't hold air, so it will it least make it look better while I am pushing it around my garage. :)

http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/p...pictureid=7950 This is the blade that I picked up with it. I thought it was homemade when I first looked at it. It's pretty rusted on the wearplate from sitting on/in the ground for some time. |
That 100 bucks spent is looking better and betternthe more pics you post.... Hot damn!
|
I think so..My better half still has her reservations..lol I did get it started, but it knocked hard, so shut it down and will probably have to wait a while before getting very deep in it. My grandson is only 5 months old, so I have a little time before he can use it.
|
Oh heck yes, that's nice!!!
|
For $100, you nearly stole that blade and tractor. Great deal!
|
I prefer to think that I saved it from the scrapyard. The couple got it and a couple old bolens on a property and they were going to scrap it all if they didn't sell. I saw the rear lift and the ags on the rear is what I wanted originally. I've never had a cub with a cooler built in either.
|
You got an IH rear blade. That alone was worth it.
|
Wait.
What? A built in cooler? |
Well, that's what I see when I look lift the seat. I believe that the squirrels thought it was a incubation chamber or storage facility for their nuts, but...I envision a cooler. :beerchug:
