The best Christmas present ever.

When I was a little boy, my Grandpa had a 104 that my Dad inherited, when he passed. That meant I got to cut the grass with it. I did everything with that tractor, it was my four wheeler. I remember it was a 10 hp with a blue stripe and a gear drive with a creeper. It also had skinny tires at all four corners. We had a wind breaker cab and a snow thrower, along with a deck too.
When I was away one summer for work, my Dad had sold it off. I really didn't think much of it at the time. Because of the girls, you know what its like, out of high school. Anyways, 3 weeks ago I found one on the list about 3 hours away. I knew it was not going to happen because I had a lot going on at work and at home. So Christmas eve comes, I had gotten my step dad a 149 with a plow for his present. About an hour after I arrived, he come riding around the corner on the holy grail 104 from the CL ad. My brother and him had gone and gotten it for me because they knew how much it meant to me. This one has headlights and what I think is a factory cigar lighter. Runs a little rich, I have some work to do. |
It’s a Festivus miracle!
Congrats on a beautiful, clean 104! Looks like pretty much everything is there! |

Looks like a factory lighter to me! Just picked up a 104 a couple weeks ago. Yours is in better shape than mine. :biggrin2: |
Well there it is. The 104 I've been hearing about. Congrats Cory on your "gotta have" tractor.:beerchug:
Master of Lew will know if that's a genuine cigar lighter or not.:bigthink: He's prolly out bringing in the new year, may take a day or two.:biggrin2: |
Congrats on the new toy!:beerchug: It's always nice to re live your childhood! Fortunately I still have two that I grew up with!:beerchug: Even though they didn't mean much back then they sure are special to me now!:beerchug:

Enjoy your new toy! :beerchug:
Built March of 1969 if I read your serial number correctly. |
Nice find, seems more sentimental than anything, that's kinda how my cub is with me. Even though it's not exactly what my father had it still is nice to have something that reminds you of the past.

Lucky man. Enjoy.

It was missing the left foot rest, the hood ornament, and the rear plate for the tail light. |

I have a 71 with a lighter...
Attachment 89941 In the interest of full disclosure, my brother (sirlancealot on here) actually owns the tractor. But I did pick it up. It's going to be here until ???? Don't know what we are going to do with it yet. Picked it up from another forum member. Also got a #1 cart from the guy. I bought the cart. Pic since you asked. Sorry, no good pic of the cart. Forgot to take one until I put it in the shed. Attachment 89942Attachment 89943 |

No plan for the 104 yet. The plan we had didn't pan out. Right now, it's just sitting. Not a top priority at the moment, lol. Too cold, and I have another couple tractors I'd rather work on. I got the #2 cart at least a year ago. Only used it once. I just keep hooking up to the old junk cart I have and using it. :biggrin2: I'd like to clean up both and paint them. Maybe have the inside of the bed Rhino Lined in white. That way I don't feel bad about "using" them. Can't hurt them if Rhino Lined! |
