1650
2 Attachment(s)
Well, after seeing all the fun 64fleetside has been having with his newly acquired 1650, I just couldn’t resist checking this one out;
1 new result for cub cadet, sort: relevant, as of 2015-09-24 09:05:06 AM EDT • Cub Cadet riding mower w/plow 16hp Kohler - (Rehoboth) View all the results. Unsubscribe from this alert. View all saved searches. Thank you for using craigslist. As it seems many of you have, I’ve been toying with the idea of building a 1600 for some time, or possibly swapping a K341 into my 1450 to run a QA42a and then building a 1400 but haven’t been able to come up with the engine. Seems to be plenty of 12 and 14 hp versions of the Quietlines around but rarely see any of the big boys. So, first day off in forever. Off I went in the high winds and heavy rain, crossing the Braga bridge (which has been under construction for the past 75 years) over the Taunton river and up into Rehoboth. Now talk about ironic, turns out I know the guy. He used to be the parts guy at the local John Deere Construction Equipment dealer. Haven’t seen him in years! And where did the tractor originally come from? Sylvia’s Lawn and Garden Center (now Goldsteins) in Westport, owned by the family of a friend of mine! I’ve been driving by there every day for the last 25 years! |

So guess what?, yeah,.. I did.
This is all your fault Brian. |
looks nice, congrats.

Nice find,weights are a bonus!!

Would it be too much to ask you to take a photo of the hydraulic cylinder and how it's attached on the plow?:Help: I'm setting my 1650 up with dual hydraulics just as yours is and I'm going to put a cylinder on my plow to adjust the angle as your is. A picture is worth a 1000 words they say! Whoever they is! :biggrin2: Thanks!

Nice find there twoton!

Dang David, that one looks brand new compared to mine, just had to go one up I guess.... Weights plow wow....what a nice rig. Congrats!

Any of you guys know if this deck will fit this tractor?
http://worcester.craigslist.org/grd/5200133726.html |
They say "Timing is everything." Nice haul!
|
Mower deck should work. You would need to change the center pulley. The 2072 uses a 5/8" pulley. The 1650 uses a 3/8" pulley. A IH-59703-C3 pulley would be needed.

Fans still intact. Time for a new rag joint, I think I've done this before (it's like deja vu all over again!) Might even be able to fit two in.

Nice looking tractor! Congratulations! Even with a few PO mods, you did good!
Regards, Chris |
nice find with some nice extras! It's nice to know there are still some quiet line tractors out there with their side panels to be had.

I can tell you $250 for a 50C or A is WAY too much... Forget that CL ad. The mule drive would be for the wrong belt too (but may actually function). FWIW, I have 2 very nice 50As, both with the smaller/late model "speed up" pulley installed, and I paid $100/ea. One was locally from CL, another from an eBay seller that delivered it 200 miles for me for free (sort of a long story, but that guy wheels and deals on stuff all the time and is cool. Out of respect for our vendors I will insist you PM me for the name if you want it... he would Fastenal ship if you asked but I can't see that working out with like 1,000 mile distance) and I skinned him an extra $40 for him and his boy to hit the local steak joint while they were in town for being good sports. Last mule drive/deck carrier combo I bought (2011?) was $28 shipped (eBay, same guy). Last mule drive alone was $18 shipped (random seller). To me, that puts the *top* of the going rate for that setup at $170 *IF* it had the right pulleys. I don't know Yeeter from Adam, but if you want a deck I'd probably hit him up or offer the CL guy a c-note flat for the entire setup, which will probably get you hung up on. FWIW, with the right pulleys, you'll want a 77" belt. Cub dealer sold me something absurdly too long (like an 80") based on my serial #. Totally didn't work without 4" of J bolt sticking out of the mule drive. I've been using Oregon Kevlar/Aramid belts with no complaints. |
Yeah, and $450 is probably to much for this too;
http://boston.craigslist.org/sob/tls/5255362926.html Don't think anyone actually pays the asking price for stuff on CL. Problem is I'm not much of a beater. |
I can't comment on the value of the rake, but nice decks shouldn't be that hard/expensive to find. Some people think loose, and common, implements are made of gold for whatever reason.
Here's an entire 1x9 with a 42" deck, new ags, and a snow thrower for $750 (not sure how far from you it is). That's not a bad deal at all. Sell off what you don't want and probably get the deck for "free". http://hartford.craigslist.org/grd/5234255071.html |

twoton: That's more than it sold for new ! I have a older one with narrower tines but only paid $100 for a couple years ago. The ones I've seen around here have been going for around $200 to $250.
|
That's a nice looking rake you got there Jumper. And that's what I was thinking, $200 - $250.

Plow
More pics of the ram mounting configuration on the plows would be very welcome. Want to pick up a ram for my 1541 so my lazy old bones does not have to climb off the machine to turn the blade. Anyone know where to get a ram without having to get a bank loan?

So, I finally finished my spindle upgrade that I started back when;
http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...&postcount=159 I just been having a hard time justifying the $$$$$ when I already had a set of decent tires and rims on my 1200. But I aint to good with discipline, dang!, I couldn’t even spell it without spell check. So, again,… I been squirlin away parts and stuff for sum time and now, after our most recent snow event, I have decided that… It should go on the 1650. Might make steerin better. |

So some of the stuff I got, is some of these rims,…
http://www.cedarrapidstire.com/produ...-75-0815293266 hey look, these guys are listed on our site under “Resources” (hope that means they support the site) Some tires, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005O5WV4E/...J85RK7RJ&psc=1 Valve stems; http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LAJTEFW/...I29G2OM9O91GRH Sure is a lot easier to mount these little tires when you can bolt the rim down. I got the rim on one of these; http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...ct_13610_13610 Which is bolted to a section of utility column that I got buried in the ground. In the machine shed. |

And one of those NICE bearings:
|
Maybe one day I will even rebuild the steering box;
http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...0404#post30404 And add a remote grease fitting; http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...351#post389351 And do the neutral adjust on the hydro linkage; http://cubfaq.com/neutraladjust.html And do the tighten up on the front axle cross member; http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...073#post338073 I think:bigthink: (on occation) that I’ll get to the last few things when I pull the engine out of this pig in the spring. :beerchug: |
|
Looking great!! I grew up on a quietline.. great tractors when they are right.. Looks like you got a pretty good one.:beerchug:
