New to me 125
1 Attachment(s)
Just got this 125 about an hour from me. Cleaned up ok. Needs the usual hood hinge repair. Was hoping the seat was going to be better. It will look good next to the 105. Will see if she will start tomorrow after changing oil and the usual prep. Oh yeah, was full of gas but smelled like turpentine :bash2:
Some pics so it happens... |
Terry that's real nice, congrats. That can't be original yellow can it? Looks like a repaint but they did a good job if they did
|
nice 125,get it running and you will never need another one.

125 is an excellent tractor. You can do no wrong and she looks real good. I see two different yellows........ some make up?

Congrats on the 125:beerchug:
Let the fun begin..:biggrin2: |
Looks really clean! Is that original paint??
|
Arguably, the finest cub that IH made. That appears to be in really good shape, so hopefully it won't too much to get it back in action! Nice find and haul to add to your collection. Let us know when she breaths new life.

Thanks everybody. No it's not original paint. I'm starting to run out of room.
People are starting to ask me why I have so many. These people are ignorant and I removed them from my contact list I don't really see their point. :biggrin2: Plus I'm just getting started. Haven't even started on the red ones yet! |
Congrats on the 125 Terry! I really like that series.
I miss mine. It was one of my favorites. But... my brother enjoys it now, so it's all good. :beerchug: |
Nice find Terry! Was that the one up on Sioux City CL? There was one on there a few weeks ago that I emailed about. Looked just like yours. Glad you picked up another. :beerchug:

Yes it was on CL. When I first looked at the ad I didn't think much about it, needed a few too many things. There was only one pic in the ad so I had him send me some other views and it started to look like a better deal. I saw it had a good grille screen and still had a lighter. It wasn't all great though, I had to bring a set of tires with me. Figured I'd better go get it before a truck with Wendy Oaks on the side of it was there picking it up :biggrin2: |
Nice 125. my favorite

My 125 is my do-everything workhorse. I'm continually amazed by how much it can do. Great find!

Update on the 125
I started on the 125 by removing the broken hood. Tried to move the hydro lever but it was stuck. Kroil and a screwdriver wedged in the friction disc area fixed that. Pulled the choke and it was stuck. Got that soaking. Tried the throttle and was stuck also. Pull the carb off and put on another. New battery and turned the key, nothing. Figured the switch is the culprit after the stuck cables. Must have sat outside for a portion of its life. Hot wire to the coil and short cable to the starter and she's alive. That's all I wanted to hear. That's my favorite part, making something run that people gave up on. Hydro works too but I've never had one not after changing the fluid and filter.
That's all I will do to it for now I need to finish the 105 first. Just wanted to hear it fire up so I know where I'm at with it. Thanks everybody for the kind words |

I did email him and we talked for a little bit, but that's just too far for me to go. Looks better at your place than mine anyways! :beerchug: |
