New guy again, hdy lever trouble

Hi, could one of you guys help me with my hdy lift levers on my 149, the lever on the other side of the hdy ram, that lifts the mower deck, is 1in or more lower then the other side, so when i lift the deck, one side is a lot higher then the other. these attach to the mule arms with a sliding attachment. i need to get them level. Thanks

I think a pic would help. I'm having a hard time fully understanding what you are saying. It may be one of those things where you understand it but it is difficult to explain.

Ok, your talking about the lift arms on the rockshaft. You either have a very bent arm, or a sheered spirol pin on the rockshaft that holds the arm to the shaft.

#18 and 19 both have pins through them.

Do you just have those exploded views saved on your computer? I have a parts catalog, I just wish it was digital.

hdy arm

you are right, it is the # 18, i beat on it with a hammer, and it moves a little bit, but not free, like a sheared pin would be, looking across at the other arm, it is higher, maby 1in. any ideas on making them the same?

Yes, change the pin. It's bent or sheared. Hole could be wollered out too.

hard pin

I have been beating on that pin and it wont move, guess I will try to drill it out , not having fun at all. Larryp

J-Mech 10-14-2014 05:25 PM

They're hard. Doubt you can drill it. Not without going through a ton of bits anyway. I'd say it's bent and that's why it won't budge. Good luck, that's never fun.

If the pin is sheared and the three holes are not lined up, you will NEVER be able to beat the pin out.

You're gonna have to get that arm lined up the same as the other one and THEN knock the pin out.

R Bedell 10-15-2014 09:23 AM

Use a floor jack to push the "lower arm" up to match the other.
