Is it a IH 982 (79-81) or a CCC 982 (82-85) ? This is a rare and nice bird, founding implements for it most be a PITA. Of all CC this is the one I wish I own brand new and an original of course :-)
Looking forward to see the progress you did on that gem, keep the good work:ThumbsUp: |

This thread tittle is confusing but the mistake is mine since you clearly specify stripping a 2082 frame in your first post. It's a interesting build to follow and a unique bird repro.
I wonder what diesel engine ICC or CCC may have swap in the 982 if they had build one? What was available between 79 to 86? I bet they fit at less a 16 to 20hp if they could. |

got some paint on it finally need to wet sand a few runs out and ad second coat
|
Looks good, I'm in the process of sanding on a 782 getting it ready for paint, what kind of paint are you using?
|
The new red paint is looking great!
|
have a place locally called blaines farm and fleet they had valspar enamel in IH red got a quart of that and some hardener. shot it thru a 20 dollar gun and boy did i get what i paid for. woulda worked better using a brush lol
|
I just bought a gun for $16 at Harbor Freight because of the good things I read about them in forums. Is that where you got yours? I'm a little nervous now!
|
nope got mine a that blaines place. im sure its my fault talked to my sister in law who has a body shop (too lazy to make the 60 mile round trip twice to have her do it) said from what i told her paint was too thick. so im sure its my fault cuz even for 20 dollars im sure it should have worked better than it did. se said hit it with 600 grit wet dry paper to remove runs and hit it again with thinner paint

Oh man. I looked at these pics and saw snow and thought it must be an old thread.
I might be in trouble in getting mine ready for winter, which it seems is here already. That setup is going to work great for you!! Nice tractor. |
