SGT model numbers?

Are all the spread frame tractors considered SGTs? What model numbers make up the SGT family and makes them SGTs?

cub123 12-09-2013 10:41 PM

SGT tractors have a longer frame, heavier/ wider front axle, lower gearing in the hydro, bigger tires, and other than the 982/1912/14 all come with turning brakes and power steering standard. They also offered 2000 rpm rear PTO on the supers with three point.
In this pic you can see how much bigger my 982 SGT (far left) is than the 1811 with the snow thrower (normal GT)

Thanks for the quick run down! What is the cyclops series? Lol

EarlJ 12-09-2013 11:17 PM

Cyclops have single headlight across the front of the hood... its not a super but is a bit bigger than the nf and wf series 1863/64 are both Cyclops I'm unsure of other models...

As EarlJ said it's the plastic hood models with the single headlight lens, they made GT and SGT in this series, such as my 1782 diesel SGT.

Supers, no they are all hydro. Cyclops, I'm not sure to be honest:bigthink:

A 982 with a gear drive and steering brakes would be a fun project....hmmm. The toughest part would be finding a way to retain the hydraulics for the lift etc.

This is from the 982 Parts Manual and this is the same for 1912 & 1914.

I always thought the steering brakes were an option on the 982, and I've heard power steering was too but I won't say 100% on that one:bigthink:
