1450 time

For the last couple of months I have wanted to get my tiller mounted on the 1450. I finally got time today to do some cleaning of my shop so i thought what the hay?! Nightow1 came up and put a new coil and condenser on it then pulled the carb to do a clean/rebuild. Hoping that this & a few other things might make it run a little better before I go to tilling. I took my cat. 0 off and put the gear box & Cub Cadet 3pt. on. Hope to get some 10.5's sumtime in the near future to replace the narrow 8.5's on it presently. Some time ago I purchased extensions for my 1A from Outsiderline2 that I will get to install :beerchug:. I will post pix of that project aswell as some action pix at a later date. But for now here are a few to look at.

Lol there that Drill bit box is. I left it on the seat. and the cat 0 3Pt parts are on the floor. My mind don't work like it use to.

Thanks for the pics, looks good!

Nightow1 came over and got the cub up and running. He also pulled and cleaned my fuel tank... it had floaties n it. We got it put back together and pinned the tiller on. Apparently my motor shook enough that one of the engine mount bolts fell out. Put a bolt in and it helped some. Makes it hard to adjust the low idle with it shaking so bad right keith? Lol Looks like after tilling season is over it's time for new mounts! No belts or extensions yet. But we will get it there. Cant post pix from phone but will have some n a.m.

This is how I was able to get maximum lift travel from the tiller. Hadta use a cable cuz the chain rubd on the belt. The belt on the tiller just touches the fenders when lifted all the way. When its lowered the tiller will still go atleast 4" deep. No adjusting of the lift. I'm happy! Thanks for the pix camera man Nightow1!

I need to take my tiller gearbox and 3 point off of my 1250 and onto my 1450. But with my 1250 I never needed weights, the tiller is already more than enough. I never tried chains, but that depends on what you're tilling.

Rescue11 11-12-2013 09:46 PM

I tried it in rough ground an it was pushn me with the weights on:bigthink:

My 1250 never did that. :bigthink: I don't know if my 1450 will do that. I never used it on hard compacted ground because I don't think you're supposed too. I'm somewhat new to it all but I would cultivate it, plough it, or whatever else you can do you loosen the soil before you till. The roughest I've used the model 2 on was a plot that used to have a junk pile on it and a lot of junk was in the dirt. It was fairly compacted but nothing it struggled with.

Just a note, the chain may have been in the wrong spot. It shouldn't have rubbed the belt. Here is the way it is supposed to connect. You shouldn't have any problem with the way you did it, just wanted to note how it is originally.

Oh. Yes that is how it was attached when i got the tiller. I was trying to get more lift/lower travel so i did it this way. It does seem towork. Maybe a little too well:bigthink: now in the transport height the tiller belt rubs the fender. But otherwise works well. Thanks for insight tho:beerchug:

Tillers don't like frost!! Tilld a garden today and half of it had frost cuz its shaded. Yeeea. I seriously thought it was gunna break. But nope. Did fine. Had to slow waaay down. Forgot how nice a job those things do!
