ag's
thanks guys ... I'm just looking for good function. So many of these are measured differently i'm starting to ask what is actual height and width.I'm also looking at ATV tires ... anything thats a good bang for the buck and works well.

Deestone 23 x 10.5 x 12 AG tire dimensions pls
I've tried emailing tire sales houses for "actual " dimensions but the only responces I get are from the "book" Book specs say 23.3 tall and 9.8 wide.
I've heard these run smaller ... I'm trying to confirm actual size as I need a pair that won't interfere with my mower deck. Anybody out there have a set of these running that wouldn't mind giving me actual height and width. Sure would be appreciated :biggrin2: Bryan this is size and tire 23X10.5-12 Deestone 4P Super Lug Tires DS5245 |

I've never measured them but I have a pair of Deestone 23X10.50-12's on the back of one of my Originals, they just don't look nearly as tall or wide as you would think they would.

tks guys ,
I.m going to order a set ... ill make a picture history before and after and give some actual dimensions. ive found 6 ply 23 x 10.5 x 12's for $50 ea B. |
IMHO they are a great low price tire, I have a set of 23x8.5-12 on my 123 and 106, they work great if you don't mind that they look a little smaller.:beerchug: Seem to have great traction:bigthink:

Been hard at it ... used my cycle tire irons to get this done ... the turf tires wern't to bad but the Deestone Ag's are 6 ply ... many choice words were reverbed off the garage walls this week ... think if there is a next time i'll pay the $30 to have a machine do it. Must be getting old !

The ags look great!

Tires look good, heck I'd be happy with those:beerchug:

Ags look great!:beerchug:
|
It's worth every cent to have the shop mount those tires.:beer2:
|
Those are 10.50 deestones on 8.5 inch rims? Look good.
|
I have Deestone AGS on all for corners of my 1200 I like them and I agree with you nextime I will have someone else put them on who does that for a living. I hate those small tires , would rather mount a truck tire anyday!

Many years later, I'm in the same boat as the OP. I'd like Tru Powers, but they're as expensive as vehicle tires. Meanwhile on eBay you can get a pair of Deestones for $130 shipped to your door.
Will reply back once I get them on the 1650; I have a pair of Goodyear ags on my 782 that I can show a comparison in size to. |
Farmall450, that is a pretty good buy. I might have to try those for that price too. Thanks.

Don't get me wrong, they look good, and having the extra traction in the soft ground is amazing. |

Back in the day, they said steel wheels with lugs would out pull those silly soft tires anytime, but they lived to see that was not so. :bigthink: As a kid, I remember seeing signs on rural roads saying: "Tractors with lugs keep off" |
I was looking at deestone rears for my 782d I would like to put duals on for rolling lawn and pulling stuff where do I find cheap rims to put on it and what is the best spacer I was looking at the ones that are a steel ring that goes in between the tires and you would use carriage bolts to hold them together.or would a set from extreme motor works be better the only thing is they aren't cheap.

This machine had the frame bosses, so I cut a piece of 5/8 hot rolled at 11.5" and drilled 2x holes for the hitch pin clips. :beerchug: These smaller Deestones certainly rake the tractor backwards more than it was before. |

In the case of a garden tractor, I would suspect that a 6 ply will bite in better and a softer tire will do less damage to soft surfaces. The heaviest I have used on a pickup were 10 ply mudders. Even if I aired down to 12psi, those stayed stiff. The contact patch didn't grow. The off road guys who do a lot of "rock hopping" seem to like those because they are hard to tear up. I think that R2 tread style tires in 10 ply are available in sizes that fit on the wide rear Cub Cadet rims. I don't know that super stiff industrial tires like that would provide an advantage here. I mostly see those tires on skid steer equipment. |
