I found it quicker to pull the motor and the clutch comes out hole and then try and pound out the role pins. What ever you do don't put a role pin back in. |
Good luck on your throw out bearing! It will be good as new, when you're done.

Maybe some one can help me... i saw a tool on ebay to press the spring on the shaft to put the roll pins in. I no longer can find it. Does anyone know a webside that sells it?
|
Not sure on the tool but just fyi you can remove the engine and use the release arm to hold the spring back while you knock in the pins. Use a jack stand or something to support the front of the drive shaft. Nothin to it.

PDF download of the tool http://mgonitzke.net16.net/tools/compressor.pdf |
I use a bench vice to get out the roll pin. 1.lightly clamp the drive shaft 2.tap on the end on the drive shaft on the clutch end. 3.tighten vice 4. tap out the roll pin. 5.slowly release the vice. That's the way I do it and it works great for me.

Be careful, I've seen little things like this turn into full blown restorations.
