I don't think the seat is original (is it?). The back fold forward, it adjusts back and forth, a good thing since I'm 6'2" and need the leg room. The frame is plastic with padded seat and back.

Dash question... what goes in the open hole above the throttle?

The seat isn't an original seat for the 86.

Mower deck ID (so, what size is this, 42"?) and tractor serial no. (partial, I believe)...

Cool "barn find" if it were mine, I would clear coat it to preserve the "barn find" patina.:biggrin2:

Might just do that, not going to paint it otherwise.

A chrome cap goes in the hole above the throttle.

Found your 86! That is a good looking Cub. For a barn find you did real good. If you look at mine you can see why the seat was changed. Those seats did not hold up!
I would think you might want to pull the engine and check for wear. Yes it would cost you some bucks but that is the heart of these. And a good engine in one of these is a sweet thing.

Whiz what is the black plastic hand knob on the right side of the tunnel for? I am missing that knob on mine.

That knob is for attachment height adjustment. You are also missing the eccentric.
