I'm definitely looking at a de-thatcher and aerator. The generator does sound cool. My grandpa has a really old monty wards 2000W that is shot. Like I said I have a deck, but I believe it's shot. I'll try to take a few pics and see if you all think it's worth re-doing.

I was at a TSC store this past weekend and saw aerators, rollers, carts, sprayers, etc. on clearance and all would work nicely on the back of an original. I just bought a '62 original last week myself and really appreciate how fine of a machine it really is.....if the bracket for the bolts to the rear transmission didn't need to be welded (a common problem with the originals). If you want to have a little extra fun and have some more seat time, you could get a single disc plow and plow up your neighbors' yards if your isn't level enough. When they get upset and start yelling at you, just grin from ear to ear, wave to them and tell them that you didn't think your cub could do it, but it did!!!:biggrin2.gif:..........Uh, on second thought:bigthink:, maybe you better not do that, but it would be funny to see the look on their faces!! Hopefully you can pick up some attachments at a fair price and start enjoying that great ride!!!

that's a good idea... my neighbors wouldn't have back yard if it wasn't for me. I got bored one summer and cleared .75 acres off their back lot by hand, just my husqvarna 350 and me... I got my dad a winters worth of wood (he has an outdoor stove keeps year round). They are great people and would probably let me do it :)

Well I got me a couple of things today... I found a newer dethatcher for $5.00 in the trading journal. The guy wanted me to haul off the Murray it came with too... I also went to sears and they had a 36" spike aerator down to $70. Doesn't look the best in the world, but I figured $70 ain't too bad. My problem is there just isn't too much of a market for old stuff around here. I would have to go down towards Bristol VA from the looks of anything on craigslist or ebay...

If you really want to have some fun,buy another cadet and then restore yours! I have been about 3 yrs. gathering parts and accessories for my original and this will be my winter project. So far it is painted ,ready to be reassembled. I have been fortunate to find: light kit,3 point lift.wheel weights, fenders etc. sometimes the hunt is more fun than the capture. The most important thing to me is have fun with your project. This one was built in May of 1961. Ihave a trading buddy whose original s/n is 18 numbers newer than mine. Again,have fun with it. Waiting to be restored: another original,a72,a73,a spirit of 76 and what ever my next one will be. Wawcub47

And you can hook up your cart and drive down the road and pick up all the trash along the road. Works good for seat time.

I wish I would have taken some pics, but the 'O' has been doing some serious cart duty. When I was helping my dad put up a new chain link fence we put all the tools, line/terminal post, concrete, whatever in the cart and the 'O' pulled it around without even flinching. I think at one time we had 8/80lb bags of quickrete along with some other stuff. It was pretty cool. The neighbor across the street had never saw anything like it. He was amazed at the "midget tractor" as he called it. Good stuff.....

Yea, I hear ya on the cart duty. But I do take the outfit with a pole/nail combo and gather trash...hope I was not sounding like a smart butt. Not much work for the old wheelbarrel except between the rows of the garden.I like these old threads, they are here for something, right!

Hey Guys;

I find all sorts of things to do with my 100, almost everyday.
A few of these would be, plow the garden, disc the garden, cultivate, use my cart for just about everything, hual fire wood, haul things to the compost pile, haul compost out to the garden.
Last year at CubOrama, I saw a guy running an ice cream freezer off of the PTO, I can't wait to get one of those set up.

Oh no, that never crossed my mind.... When I started this thread back when I was just looking for ANYTHING to use the 'O' for besides joy rides. :) I think I mentioned it in this thread, but I've got a deck for it, but most of the front leading edge is ate away, so there goes that... I bought the 'O' without knowing anything about IH Cubs so at the time I didn't realize that all of the attachments for the Original were made just for the Original...
