Ditto!!! That really looks awesome on your O. The zipper should be an easy repair for around $15-$25 in my area. The 147 looks good, too! It has an interesting seat height on it.

The 147 does have an interesting seat setup. I should get some pictures of it. The seat was raised 2 or 3 inches from stock with some iron. It was welded and drilled to fit the front and back holes in the fenders. Then, they use the toolbox as a battery box, put a full size battery in it, reroute the cables to the back, add more useless wiring, and put a generator off a bigger IH tractor on it.

Notice the deck too...it has more rollers and welded iron on it. The deck must have gottten too heavy, so the PO welded tabs with helper springs on the frame to act as a spring assist :bash2:

I think these will be easy to reverse, but it will just take time. Its just funny how people will re-engineer stuff.

We talk a lot about POs but when and if we ever sell one of our treasures we become known as the dreaded PO. Some of us are quite disturbed at PO modifications because the machine is no longer original. Others will take a machine and modify it to their desires and their pocket depth or the availability of a replacement part. Personally I sort of fit right in the middle of that description.

Thats a good point. I dont mind PO mods at all, I actually think I might keep the battery setup on it. Its a full size battery that will last quite a bit longer than a GT battery will. Sometimes PO mods can get confusing, because you dont know how exactly something works unless the PO explains it before the sale. So you wish that it was factory so you could look at a book or a diagram.

My dads original survived me and much more than the design engineers ever envisioned. My 102 survived two boys and me making it do things definately not designed for. They are a really tough machine no matter the number on the hood.

Only if any Cub Cadet could tell its story. We all have these machines that could probably keep us entertained for hours upon end.
