Cub Original With Cab/Project 147
Well, this weekend turned out to be very productive. Started out Friday night with a new to me 147. Been parked since 1990. Supposedly needs an engine overhaul. Has LOTS of PO mods...and they arent that great. Its in decent shape for the use and abouse it got...supposedly a big family had it and 5 or 6 kids have drove it.
Saturday was a decent day, so I decided to get out the SIMS cab for the Original. It didnt go on too bad. I was wondering if anyone had a link to a possible manual on these, or anyone have any pictures of these that they can show me? Unsurprisingly, I dont believe I have all the pieces for this cab...and it seems a little shrunk from being so cold out and being in storage. The guy I got it from this fall said he purchased it from the Iowa DOT in Des Moines. Also, on the cab, the zipper for the door is not in good shape. Can this be repaired? I bet it will cost $$$. Anyone with info or stories...let me hear them

Thanks Jeff for the info. There are a few shops around here that may do it. I just wonder what the cost will be $$$. I bet it will be expensive.
I was surprised on how well the blower worked. After I put on the cab, I tested it in the 2-3 inches of snow we had. I bet that thing threw it 15 feet in the air! I was impressed. That was the first time I tried it since I bought it. It may have just earned its keep!!

Just a zipper replacement? Around here $25-$40
general info on using a single stage snow thrower, run the tractor at WOT ( 3600 rpm ) and try to keep the auger loaded for best performance. Pam cooking spray or silcone on the chute ( unless it's coated with graphite paint / slipcoat )

Oh, dont worry...she was WOT
 It has a very goofy aftermarket muffler that really isnt a muffler...and she was barkin. I do need to graphite the insides of that thrower. Its a little rusty, but for coming right out of the shed and being put to use I was very pleased. The problem with the zipper is the two halves. I think the material was so dry rotted from sitting so many years that its just ripping off the seam. If its 25-40 bucks I would be super pleased!

If the edges of the windbreaker material is weak, you may get away with adding some webbing to it when the zipper is replaced. ( like thin tow strap/tie down material )

Both tractors look great. The Original and cab look to both be in good shape other than the zipper problems. Thanks for sharing the pics!
