Thanks guys! Glad you like 'em.

Those are a pair of suitcase weights that I installed. I ran two L-shaped 1" channel down from the bolts that hold the rear end to the frame, then welded a 4" plate across them. That gave me enough to hang a weight on each side, tucked in between the fenders and the rear end. They JUST fit!

What you probably can't see under the tractor is the plate steel that runs between the two L-brackets. I painted it black and with some shade, it about disappears.

Altogether, with a pair of wheel weights, it puts me right at 1050lbs. Depending on track conditions, we pull in either 1st or 2nd gear.

Great pix on the other Os guys. I've been thinking that these Originals are enjoying a resurgence in popularity. Let's keep this thread goin! :beer2:

You bet! My dad dream to own one the day IH make them, he purchase a very early 4 digit one in a auction and keep it until he die in 1994, last time I see it was sitting next to his Gravely cab GT. I lost his track, I think one of my brothers sell it for my mom. I wish I found that tractor and restore it today.

Looking at all those beauty here help me remember how pleasant it was mowing the yard for a 10 years old boy driving a IH garden tractor.

Winter project. Took it all apart during this past long winter and repaired and painted it.

Here it is 99% done.. An illness is keeping me from finishing it. I hope to be able to finish it soon.

That rings true for many of us. Had an "O" when I was about that age. I guess that's what started it for me!

Great work OAITW! Keep at it when ya can and let us know the progress!
