Default Snow cab on the Rat Rod Super!

I got the cab for my 1872 painted and installed. Just like the tractor it's a Valspar Rattle can job. Sure beats the rust it had before. I'll install the canvas/vinyl along with the doors when it gets a little colder. Been pretty nice here lately for this time of year. This cab is for the older IH big GT's. It fits the seat and fender pan not the tractor so the steering wheel is under the windshield a little bit on a super. Not a problem at all there is plenty of room for even my big mitts. With the power steering and suicide spinner. It'll be great. I think I'll end up installing an amber beacon and at least a couple of proper color reflectors on the sides and rear. I'll also probably attach a slow moving vehicle triangle on the rear. That way I'm legal out on the county road clearing around the mailboxes and such.

I tried to take some detail shots for anyone who is working on there own as far as mounting ect.

I still need to re install the wiper assembly and I might add a front and rear utility light as well. I see if it's needed after the 1st snowfall. Looks like I need to trim about 1/16" off the outer edge of the left single pedal as well.

I'll add pics when I put the doors and canvas on.

Here is a comparison shot from last spring showing the canvas.

Squatch that super looks fabulous. Love the paint job. Been trying to visualize how that color scheme would look. I am in the process of building a 124 with that paint job. My King Bee project. Hope it looks as nice as your super. Nice Job I am in the process of trying to find a Dodge Super Bee logo for my hood. Kelly

Squatch, that color looks darker than cub yellow, what brand and number is that? I love that paint scheme. Might do my 1250 that way.

Thanks for the kind words. The color is late model Cub Yellow. It rattle can Valspar Cub Yellow from TSC. Pretty close to the original yellow on this tractor. But darker than the IH Cubs for sure. Looks like State highway dept yellow! The doors and canvas are a bit paler but that's not a big deal for me. I think not having the white makes it seem even darker still along with the black lower and wheels. I'm pretty happy with it. Not a perfect paint job by any means but sure beats rusty filthy white for me.

Few more pics for you guys as I keep getting a little more done(slowly).
View from the captains seat.

Electric wiper reinstalled along with new wiring and a switch and fuse. I also added a little weather strip around the swinging glass to keep down the rattles. Can't be seen in the pics.

From the outside.

Some shots showing the added reflectors. I was debating lights or reflectors and decided since I stay mostly on our private road and the tractor has head and tail lights that I would just add reflectors for the time being. I Plan to add a couple more and an amber beacon to the cab roof along with a SMV sign on the rear of the cab. This is for those times when I'm out on the small county road cleaning around the mailboxes. Seems like most all of my snow work is done after dark most years.

I'll probably add 1 more matching amber reflector each side at bottom rear of cab.

Rear view. Red reflectors on top of cab, will add 2 more along bottom along with SMV sign and lights on fenders.

Overall shot showing doors and canvas in place along with the reflectors(white fronts at top of cab to compliment the lights)

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
