PTO "guide"
Does anyone know where to get that little wing shaped PTO install guide that fits over the wear button and the throw out plates to properly adjust?
Also, anyone know of a source for the anti-rattle springs? Local Cub dealer couldn't find a reference or part number for them. thanks

I beleive R Bedell recently posted the dimensions of the adjustment guide in a PTO post....normally when you buy the kit it comes with the kit.

Quietlines and narrow frames, mostly projects but I mow with a 1200 and have a 122 set up for pulls. Wandering the country bringing towers to wind farms everywhere, and bringing yellow stuff home to Texas. Also into flatfender jeeps.

If it's the same pto he posted pictures of in another post it's a narrow frame pto. Labrati- The sponsors above can get you all the anti-rattle springs you need. They work well but they'll also be the first part missing from the pto after several hours of operation. You also need to install them AS you slide the pto into the basket and over the bearing, not afterwards. You'll see what I mean when the time comes.

Why does the manual say if you are not using a piece of equipment with the front PTO to leave it engaged? So it's OK with a mower deck to engage and disengage constantly, but otherwise leave it engaged? My 127 I just got is the first tractor I've had with a mechanical PTO, so this is all new to me....

When it's engaged, no wear is occurring on either the friction disc or the thrust button. It's just sitting there spinning. When it's engaged, the friction disc rotates inside the clutch, and the slight drag from this slowly spins the clutch when there is not a belt on it, which wears the thrust button.
