Default Cyclops front bumper

while surfing e pay i came across a front bumper for a cyclops it was at like 150 bucks. wow they are cool but 150 bucks? does anyone have one they could take a few pics and measurements off of for me i have a tube bender and wanna give one a try. would have to find the end caps but should be able to find something. as per the pics on e pay it looks like it mounts to the front of the tractor so you can still have the mule drive on is this correct. i have dies to bend 1 5/8 and 1 1/8 inch tube not sure if thats the same size but that wouldnt matter much to me if its only gonna cost me 50 bucks to make

I saw it as well and thought the same thing. I can make that myself for a whole lot less. I don't own a bender but the muffler shop up the street has bent steel pipe for me before and they never charge me more than about 10 bucks. Ill be curious to see dimensions too as I definitely plan to weld something up soon.

The big tube is 1.5", the small one is .75". I measured the front and back side length. Around the front it was 32" and 28" around the back. So the tube should probably be 30" long. Heres a few pics.

I have one more but it is not showing up right now.

edit: found it

shrew how does it attach to the tractor it bolts on i assume? when you get some free time post a pic of what that area looks like. looks to me as if it bolts onto the two front holes in the frame and the top of the bracket looks to bend and go out horizontal to the ground? does the bracket cover the front of frame at all looks as tho it might be really close to hydro outlets? tube size isnt too far off 1 5/8 and 1 1/8 would look fine i think. oh and thanks

Just one bolt each side. The angle of the bend would stop vertical movement. The bumper is very sturdy.
Drill 1/2" clearance holes? Don't know if the frame has the holes in it, bumper was on the CC when purchased.

After looking at the one on my new CCC 1641 I too would make one. Made to accommodate weights or a carrier if required.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
