Can't figure out how this sleeve hitch hooks up to rock shaft arm. Have Googled and searched, looked at shop manual but i do not find any info. Time to ask those in the know. I think I know how it hooks on the rear of trailer. Parts picture shows a spacer for the rear but none for the front. The spacer is no longer being made. Will a Bronze bushing work? Thanks in advance for your help. One picture attached.

Mr Bob
What you have there is the rear lift. The bolt on piece connects to the lift arm and the bar slips of the stud. The other end of the bar uses the spacer to connect to the rear casting where the lift pin slips in. Since I'm a narror frame guy, I have pictures of how mine goes together. Yours will be similar but not exact. ![]() |

Bob, Here's a picture--it's a red 108, but similar arrangement only this tractor has a manual lift while yours would be hydraulic. You need a couple short (3/4 inch) grade 5 or 8 hex head bolts to bolt that bracket to the rockshaft lift arm.
Inside the tunnel, on the right side (facing forward from the operator's seat) there is an arm attached to the lift rockshaft. Operate the lift with the tunnel cover off, and you'll see the arm move. It has a pair of holes in it that match up to the pair of holes in that little bracket. The long flat operating rod slips over the short pin on that bracket (add a cotter pin to keep it on), then bolt that little bracket to the lift arm. There is no other spacer at that end of the lift rod. As I recall, the bracket bolts to the outside of the lift arm, with the pin pointing outward, toward the tractor's frame. Been a couple years since I messed with one of those...

Thanks Sawdustdad for the pictures and clearing that up for me. For some reason I had pictured it mounting to the bottom of the rock shaft arm. The older I get the dumber I get. Thanks again for your help and have a great day.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
