Default Stainless Steel 129 muffler
This is my idea of a forever muffler. I built it out of stainless steel. The original muffler is about 3" in diameter. This one is 3 1/2". It is actually the tube that encases a 4" well pump. I also redesigned the baffle system. I, of course have not put it on any flow meter to compare flow to the original muffler, but the way it is designed, it should have equal or better flow to the pipe coming into it. It is also quieter than the original design. To me it sounds good and also looks good. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]

Looks going on the outside, could you cut it in half length-wise so we can see the baffles?

Really how did you put baffles in? I'm thinking you built everything on a center tube then slide it in?

I bet if the internals were built exactly like original and all of the material were merely a gauge or two thicker, a muffler would be much quieter and last much longer.
