This is my idea of a forever muffler. I built it out of stainless steel. The original muffler is about 3" in diameter. This one is 3 1/2". It is actually the tube that encases a 4" well pump. I also redesigned the baffle system. I, of course have not put it on any flow meter to compare flow to the original muffler, but the way it is designed, it should have equal or better flow to the pipe coming into it. It is also quieter than the original design. To me it sounds good and also looks good. [IMG]

Looks going on the outside, could you cut it in half length-wise so we can see the baffles?
![]() Really how did you put baffles in? I'm thinking you built everything on a center tube then slide it in? |

I bet if the internals were built exactly like original and all of the material were merely a gauge or two thicker, a muffler would be much quieter and last much longer.
SS, even better. P.S. Yours should now be a $5,000 muffler on ebay. |

I'd love to have one but that's a hard price to find $$ for.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
