Default LT1050 Snowblower attachment?

Hey everybody, just wondering if anybody knows what snowblower fits an LT1050 built in 2006? I believe its a 190-032. But from looking around the internet it appears they came in many configurations. I also found a great deal on a new in the crate snowblower for an MTD. It is model # 24584A. I havent found a way to cross reference those numbers to anything Cub Cadet, but it appears nearly identical in the pictures. If nothing else, does anybody know which models can be easily adapted by purchasing a couple brackets from a local Cub dealer? Basically, Im trying to avoid paying the $1200-1500 the dealers want for a new snowblower. I barely paid that when I bought the lawn tractor new.. Anyways, any help is greatly appreciated.

According to the parts books, there are two snow throwers, and one 2-stage snow blower that will work. Models: 032 42" snow thrower, 673 42" Snow thrower, 823 42" 2-stage snow blower. To my knowledge, cub cadet doesn't offer "brackets" to attach other models to this one. So, the first number that you listed, sounds like a correct one (190-032).

So are you saying that any of those three you listed will fit? Or just the 190-032? Im just trying to find out my options because its pretty difficult to locate a specific used blower. Thanks for the help so far.

According to the attachment list in the parts book, any of those 3 will fit.

Default The Awards..

If there was an award for best timing, I'd be first in line to present it to you.. I have the LT1050 and ya.. i'm looking to put a snow blower on the front, so your timing for this thread is spot on.

Now to find the right blower for the tractor. appreciate the information.

Best price I have found is at the farm store.. they have the MTD listed at about 1K. HD and Lowes are a bit more.. I'd like to find a used model, but with a tractor only 2 years old, i'm guessing there isn't much used out there..

I think you guys are asking for trouble trying to put a blower on the Lt1050's but that is just my 2 cents.

JMHO, but I would have to agree with Sam Mac. I know they list a 46" blade 190-674 and a 42" Snow blower 190-673, It would probably be fine I just wouldn't personally do it seems like a problem just waiting to happen.

Good luck I hope you find something that will work.

The money you will spend on a blower for your LT you could buy a nice older garden tractor with a blade or blower and be much farther ahead and just use your LT for lawn mowing duties.

Eric, I have to agree with the above comments about putting a snowblower on a LT1050. Sure, MTD advertises a cast iron front axle and all these attachments, but that is to be sure to compete with the other companies and not used as a marketing tool against them.

From my dealer days, I quickly found to easiest way to do some damage to your LT machine is to mount a snowthrower on it, or pull a 2000lb roller. A blade wasn't too bad. And getting warranty to pay on normal use when this happened was a "pleasant experience." So my opinion was in part supported by MTD tech support as well as warranty.

But what I did personally, and after it worked well for me, then I started suggesting to others is this: (1) let your lawn tractor be your mower and invest in a walk-behind 2-stage snow thrower. Why? Easier to move around, store, easy to maintain, as well as easier to resell if you no longer have a need for it. Or (2) which has already been mentioned; find an older machine to be your "grunt/workhorse" to mount a snowblower, blade, etc on to.

This is certainly just my opinion and not trying to tell you what to do. But we all need to keep in mind, the current machines are nothing like what they used to be. And just because accessories are advertised as going on them, doesn't mean it is wise to put them on. Good luck to you and keep us informed of what you decide. Once again, just an opinion of someone who's driveway is 150 ft long and 35 ft wide.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
