Black Jack # 2
This will end up being Black Jack # 2. Picked it up from DaDuke AKA Earl Sarvey. It passed my test, it runs and made it onto the trailer under it's own power LMAO.
I need to put something together for one of my daughters to mow grass so here we go again. It will be a new thread in the custom section. Probably a copy of Black Jack # 1 or at least pretty close. May just give her #1 and do this one for myself since #1 turned out so good. Thinking about just putting the mower form this one onto #1. For those of you that don't know Earl he is one very cool guy, pic of us together, he is the good looking one on the right. LMAO

Every time I see "black jack" I picture you driving it around and the theme song to "Knight Rider" playing in the background. Lol! I'm ready to watch you finish another project as mine wait for me to have time for them!

Not good, two bent push rods, a stuck exhaust valve. Cleaned the carb before I found the push rod issue it was cruddy thought that was what was wrong with it when I bought it. Low compression on the bad hole. Now I need to see if it's worth fixing or if I need a new bullet for it. Considering that it has 700 hours on it I may just eat it and go for a new engine with a 3 year warranty. Plastic is junk except for the hood so I may copy what I did on Black Jack. Tractor itself is not bad. If it was going to be my tractor I'd fix it but considering it will be 200 miles away at my daughters I'm a little concerned about a high hour May Pop engine because you know who will get the call when it pukes. I'll probably take my own advise and do it right the first time so I don't have to do it a second time. If any of you know of any great deals on Vanguards let me know. Best deal I've found so far is from Northern Tool, about $1155.00 delivered to 24333 residential. Have to swap a few things but no big deal.

Black Jack # 2
I thought that 1641 other day just needed a good carb cleaning and tune up but it turns out that someone has been inside this critter that should not have been allowed to use tools. So far 2 bent push rods and a stuck exhaust valve. Also the something is wrong with the gov. Since it has 700 hours on it I decided to go for a new engine because it will be too far away for me to baby sit. Engine will be out tomorrow and I'll see if it's worth fixing. Gotta pull the rear and re-seal that and put a rear end brace on it. Then I'll copy what I did on the Ugly Duck as far as the hood goes. I kinda like the black look but may just go yellow and white on this one, will see how it goes.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
