Ok, I hooked the 54" blade up to the 1050 today to do a little playing. Well, as evening rolls around, the transmission doesn't feel...right. Next thing I know, 1st and 3rd gear are switched! Reverse and Second still work just fine, but 1st and 3rd gear are...reversed.
The gear level throws farther right and left than it used to, than it should, but really? 1st and 3rd switched? Any ideas, guys?

No, I don't really think that is possible. But, you do have to pull your shifter cover now. Something inside goofed up. Either the end of the shifter is worn, or you got the detents messed up.

Sounds like the inside of the shifter tower is broken to me.

Makes sense, I noticed when its in 2nd or reverse it'll move side to side all the way like its not in gear. is this a very big deal to fix? I'm hoping its something that can be remedied by just removing the shifter and replacing what's needed.

not sure why its shifting that way, that doesn't sound possible, but my 1050 had the shifter welded back together inside when I got it. I had to heat it up and bend it since they didn't get it straight and it was rubbing on the left side.

On a side note, I looked up a couple parts and it appears that the Shift Guide and two bell housing gaskets are no longer available! I don't know for sure if I NEED them yet, but while I was in there I was going to replace them anyway. Anybody know where I could get my hands on them? J-Mech, heres's your challenge

I'll see if I can find them, but first, I was informed, I have to cook breakfast! Lol. Honestly, gaskets are too easy to make to worry about buying if they don't offer them.

I'm sure you are taking about the gasket at the shifter. Number 12 in the diagram. I would just make one. No reason to chase that part down as easy as it would be to make it. If it was a large gasket, it would be a little tougher, but that one is easy.
