Got the gauges hooked up on the Ugly Duck. Promptly found out it was not charging. Dig out the 30 year old Radio Shack meter. Had AC from the stator. Checked the connections from the stator to the regulator, cleaned them up and presto we have the problem fixed. 30PSI oil pressure at idle cold, and 40PSI WOT hot on the Vanguard.
Then it was cut the grass time with the 2182. Water temp was running 175 and then it stated to climb. Pulled the screen in front of the radiator and it was pretty well packed. Cleaned it and back to 175. I hate idiot lights. ![]()

Very impressive looking!
![]() I love gauges, they never leave you to wonder what's going on with your machine. I keep trying to figure out what gauges could be used with older single cylinder motors but hour meter and amp meter seem about it ![]()

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
