Default Plow blade a.k.a What did I buy?

The guy I bought this from said one was a narrow frame setup and the other was a wide frame. I have a 127 and can't seem to make either fit right. The narrow frame one looks like it was modified. I've got more photos if it would help.

Thanks
Bill

The 127 will use the narrow frame, the one on the bottom. It looks like it's missing the 1/2" nubs on the inside. You could probably use a piece of 1/2" round stock that is around 12" long stuck through the holes in the tabs. That may do the trick.

The narrow frame one has the arms further apart and the wide frame one has the arms closer together. You may need to loosen the footrests to get the NF one to fit on them and sometimes its a very tight fit!

You're very lucky to have the versatility to adapt a blade to either a NF or a WF cub!!

Default Plow

Hi All,

It looks as if someone lenghted the narrow frame brackets, and made it longer as seen in the photo.

The problem with the one on the bottom of the photo is that once I get it in there, I can't move the life lever because the nubs on it hit the plow frame right where those pieces are welded in. That with the plow frame hooking to the very outside of the attachment bar near the trans. Should they be going inside like where the mower usually attaches?

The NF undercarriage should hook on to the front supports of the footrest, outside of the frame. In a thread by ACecil, quite some time ago, I had sent some pictures of attaching the NF blade on my 73. I looked hard for the thread that contained it, but came up short. Perhaps Allen still has that pic or can find that thread for you. I'd take another picture, but my 73 is 40 miles away from me right now.

Well you're still closer than me, I'm alot farther away than 40 miles from it but thanks ;-)

Goes OUTSIDE the frame you say? (forehead slap)

I tried looking in the tech section but it I didn't find a CC blade just the brinly stuff.

The front hooks into the quick connect jaws?

Thanks a bunch.

Thanks! I figured they were around somewhere but I couldn't find them. The plow sub frame need some "persuasive adjustment" , thats why it wasn't going on there.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
