Default Need a coil

Hello guys, Is there a Napa or other comparable coil for the 10hp that I can use? I dropped mine and it broke. Looks just like the old school stuff we had back in the day on the Chevy's

You need a 12 volt coil with an internal resistor. Auto parts stores have them.

Yep, looks like a Chevy coil but it's not. It's either a 3 or a 4 ohm coil. I can't remember.

You can get them from Primeline. Part number 4151921S.

There is an OHM specification. Not all internal resisted coils will work.

I bought a NAPA # IC14SB for my 14HP, I think they use the same coil.

I haven't used it yet but it came up when I crossed the # from partstree some time back.

'no external resistor required' is printed on my coil.

I'm not going to go spend a bunch of time arguing about this. YOU CANNOT JUST SLAP A COIL ON AND GO. It does matter. But hey, if you want to go ahead. I'll let all the smart guys on here help you figure out why it won't run right, or keeps burning up points while I sit in the background and laugh.

since the "authority" has already spoken,i guess i shouldnt waste my time. BUT we are not working on the space shuttle,a difference in ohms really wont matter. i installed a external coil on my briggs and stratton 12 horse in my montgomery wards squire 12 to avoid pulling the engine and guess what???? it works great,no burned points or running issues. FYI pullers have been using bosch blue coils forever, wonder why????

Sorry, I didn't realize I used the wrong coil, when I took the bad one in this is what they crossed it to.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
