Just my 2 cents but I don't think a z482 has enough power for the job. Looks like just under 10HP from what I can find out.

Way cool build.

The one I have is rated at 13.3hp. Also I have talked with a local diesel pump rebuilder and he said that he could do something with injector size if there is a problem with power. I figure with the flat torque curve and touch more torque it should be equal to the k321.

Thanks everyone. I am happy to say its coming along nicely and the first test fit of the Kubota z482 is going very well. I will be do more work on it in the next few days and upload photos as quickly as possible.

I got one complete engine and one in parts (spun rod bearing).

Adapter machined for the drive. The adapter is dowel pinned to the crank pulley and held in place with the main crank bolt.

Drive shaft adapter fitted.

First test fit. I'm happy to say it will clear the stock front cross member on the frame once the "bell housing plate" is trimmed.

Still debating on the type of yellow hazard light I want to use. Thinking flashing LED. Any ideas?

Got the engine positioned right where the Kohler was and mounts welded up.

Test fit hood. Going to have to do something around the alternator bracket.

Thanks !

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
