Tiller on a 782
I bought a tiller that I put on my 782 for a medium sized garden.
When tilling the drive speed of the 782 is far from constant, it will surge at times and other almost stop forward drive I am assuming this is just the way hydro drive behaves What gear drive Cub Cadet tractors would be the easiest to put the tiller on? I am not necessarily looking to buy another tractor, but I certainly am not opposed to adding another to the fleet

You're gonna find the tiller 'pushes' the hydros as you're tilling as well. I find that I have to keep one hand on my hydro lever and my foot on the brake to kind of keep the speed somewhat steady.
Your easiest straight-forward gear drive swap would be a 582. I've never tilled with a gear drive, so I can't offer any other advice.

You would need a gear drive tractor with a creeper gear,1st gear high range at WOT is way too fast for tilling. It might work once it’s all broken up, the alternative is to ride the clutch/brake to get your speed right. You won’t get a constant speed riding the clutch/ brake
