Smile New Member in GA. CC 2206

Hey everyone, Im a US Army vet '97-05. Recent empty nester, my baby just went to college. I needed a little tractor to help me move stuff around my yard, maybe a sleeve hitch for attachments and mowing. I like to fix up old stuff too, so I found this 2206 on FBM for $250 but it needed spindles. So now im here with the CC Gurus seeking guidance and support! Lol

Welcome to the forum
I hate to see a 2206 In that condition I Bought one new In 2002 2 weeks before I retired from the Army after 21.5 years It was still in excellent condition when we traded it for an XT3 GSX in 2018 Our 2206 had an electric lift sleeve Hitch and a 30-inch Hydraulic tiller The OEM electric lift sleeve Hitch is very Hard to find for it today. But if You just want to use sleeve Hitch Implements then this https://johnnyproducts.com/products/rear-sleeve-hitch is the best alternative

I can't speak for anyone else, but personally I'd have a hard time justifying a $1000 sleeve hitch for a $250 tractor.

The OEM electric Lift sleeve Hitch was $849.00 new In 2010 It was about $741 New In 2002 when I bought one with my 2206. Personally I like the quality of John Scheele's Products there well worth the Price. I have one of his electric lift sleeve Hitches On My JD GX335. It sure beats a Manual lift sleeve Hitch any day.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
