I love tractor supply when it comes to bolts. It's the cheapest place when they sell them by the pound. Just understand that you shouldn't always use grade 8 bolts thinking that they are better. They aren't better in all situations. Grade 8 is harder, but they can also break easier depending where the stress loads are for that bolt. It's like using nails for framing a house instead of screws. Nails will flex when the structure moves, screws will just snap off. Same thing can happen if you use too hard of a bolt.

Grade 5 bolts are plenty strong.Use grade 8 on head bolts.Don't over think it.Check the torque to break a 5/16 bolt for instance on a chart. You will be surprised.

I am with you on that. I live too far away from town so my shop is like a hardware store. I try to keep things I might need to keep from making a special trip to town.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
