I just purchased a 2072 and need to know the weight, just to be sure my trailer can handle it. I searched on line but just cant find a definite answer, just Gueses at about 850 lbs??? **The Tractor has a 60 inch Deck on it.**
Very anxious to get it home asap before the guy realizes he gave it away!!! Tractor is Clean, all original. With the 60 inch Deck and Power angle Plow, Wheel Weights and Chains..I paid $700.. Hasn't Run in 3 years.. not used due to medical issues with previous owner but was told it was used reguarly before that. BAD: It has been OUTSIDE UNCOVERED for 3 Years. I still thought it was a Good Gamble and will Post PIcs and more Updates as soon as I get it home. I have a 6 ft wide snowmobile trailer, single axle and am leary about the weight capability . If Needed I can just rent a trailer at tractor surply for about $45 for the day but am in a rush to get this baby Home. Thanks for help with the true weight of the tractor. Thanks Guys, DanO' |

Well "book'em Dan O" looks like you got a great deal, 850 is about right, but is your trailer wide enough?

I believe the FULL width of the Deck is actually 64 inches, my trailer is 72 inches.. it may be a little tight but "an Inch is a Good as a Mile"..
Thanks for the Info |

I'm thinking it weighs around 1,100 lbs with a 60" Haban and unloaded tires. Seems I read that in a brochure. Try searching for a sales brochure, maybe ebay or amazon?
just found this on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cub-Cadet-Pr...AAAOSwYGFUypf8 go to third pic, top left view, 1,088 lbs with 60" deck

Thanks John, That's GREAT INFO to have. I don't know if the Tires are Loaded ir NOT or how much the Wheel weights are but that shouldn't make a Big Difference. I thought 850 was kinda low because I was told the 60 inch Deck alone weighed about 200 to 300 lbs.
Well, hopefuly I will have my new Toy home very soon. Thanks again. DanO' |

The decks are very heavy, one guy won't load one without a shop crane, front end loader, etc. I missed about the wheel weights. I'm not certain how much they weigh but I think they are a good thing on that machine. If that machine has front gauge wheels on the deck and you operate with the deck riding on the wheels (as it should be for those decks), you'll need some extra weight on the rear of the tractor if you operate on hills. I've been meaning to load my tires with fluid for a couple years now and never have. It is very prone to spinning on hillsides, we'll get "stuck" and have to raise the deck so we can go.
Enough rambling from me, go get that machine and post some pics!!

A 2182 with a 60" deck weighs 1139LBS. per the lit for the Cyclops series. I'd guess the hood would add another 50 LBS give or take. The WG600 engine weighs a bit more than a Mag so if you figure 1200LBS you should be safe.

Thanks Guys, I really appreciate all the input. The only other Cub Cadet I ever owned was a 169 , which I have always regreted getting rid of but traded for a Farmall Cub. I'm excited about getting my hands on this 2072. Soon as I get it Home, which probably won't be til Monday, I will Post Pics and more info about her. I wondered if you can put me onto a Free Simple PDF Manual Download somewhere? I found one on line but for some reason couldn't download it. I'm NOT that good at Computer stuff.
Thanks again, DanO |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
