Default New xt3 opinion

Hello all,
So I finally decided to trade in my 3 year old ltx1046 that only had 55 hours on it that I used for mowing and plowing snow, great machine never had any problems with it, traded for a brand new xt3 gse bit of a overkill for my yard but I wanted a heavy duty unit with a driveshaft from the start, so unit was delivered yesterday today I was checking it out I noticed the seat seemed kind of weathered as does the hood so I checked the manufacturer date and it is 10/14 that's almost 2 years old! Granted it only had .3 hours on it when I got it but I'm the guy who waxes the thing after using it and these xt3's are not cheap, so question is should I demand a new unit that wasn't sitting outside for almost 2 years or to just have the parts replaced that are weathered ? What would you guys do? Thanks!

Did you see the unit in person before you bought it or did you look at one in a showroom and they delivered you another one? If you looked at the unit before purchasing then id say you should have noticed so it's your own fault, if they delivered a different one than you looked at then id say they should take care of it.

I would shoot a whole new machine. That would upset me also. Replacing the weathered parts would be the bare minimum. I have noticed the same weathering on the seat arm rests especially on new machines that sit outside at our local dealer.

That's what I'm thinking to replace the entire machine, the dealer had one on the floor I looked at but told me he was giving me one that was in back untouched in a crate, had I known it was untouched for 2 years lol I would have said the one on the floor will do.

If I was buying a "brand new" tractor, it would be a 2016 tractor, not a 2014. It's already depreciated in it's value from being two years old. I don't care if they are identical tractors, unless you got a hell of a deal on it verses a 2016 it's going back.

I would want some sort of compensation for receiving a machine that sat outside. I'm assuming it the hood is plastic? Sunlight has already started to deteriorate it. I don't care what brand it is, those plastic hoods are expensive and quite the hot commodity on Craigslist. Same goes for the seat. I've seen Cadets sit a couple years at the dealer my dad retired from. But there you were buying the one you were looking at. Same rule applied to everything they sold unless it was a weed trimmer or blower that was going to be wrapped up for a present, then you were sold one in a unopened box. Once the gift was given you could brig it back to the store for assembly and instruction.

I'm wondering about the warranty. Does it start from the date of purchase or manufacture?

Just about every manufacturer's warranty start at the time of sale.

I'd definitely make the dealer replace the weathered items. I bet none of them would by something new with weathered items on it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
