I have a 126 cub I think it was built June of 67 if I ran the numbers right. I've been looking at some of the mule drives on this site. To see about (facing front of tractor)the left side pully having a spring on it to hold tension. Mine does not have the spring just a adjustment bolt like the right side. Is this normal or should it have the spring. Its working just fine the way it is . if its not broke don't fix it. Just asking was all

The 38" and 42" mowers I've had on the 104/124, 106/126 series of tractors had a mule drive like this as far as belt tensioning.

I've seen mule drives made with adjustment bolts on both sides. I thought they were pin on decks not quick attach. Too many variations to remember.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
