Hello from Bucks county. We've needed a little guy to supplement the big International 300 on our horse farm. The other day we saw a 1605 for
sale along the road, and did a quick deal for 200 bucks. Not the prettiest but not the worst, either--- the I-beam front axle made the sale. That and the smooth and quiet B&S and tight steering. It's little, but it's a real tractor. And, of course, the fact that it's one of the last of the "real" US-built Internationals didn't hurt either. Couple of issues need tending: first is a mower deck drive belt that squeals and stinks under load and the blades spin down. Assumption is it's just an aged, slipping, belt, but is there a tension adjustment that we may need to put right, or maybe a tired spring? Second is that the pin that engages the teeth on the deck height adjustment has sheared off. Prior owner jury-rigged a chain to hold the height; the online parts catalog shows the pin as unavailable. Any ideas? My thought is to cut a hardened bolt of the proper diameter and get a friend to spot-weld it; or even epoxy it in place in the lower reaches of the handle. Something tells me though, that there is an equivalent part sold under a different number. Maybe after working for a living this summer it'll come home for the winter and a proper restoration.

Welcome! I grew up just down the road from you in Horsham. My dad works in Doylestown. I don't know anything about a 1605, but I am sure that someone will come along that does. Good luck with your tractor. Jason
