Good kit, should do you good. Also an option is from there guys, highly recommended:
http://www.mcmaster.com/ Look up your tie rod ends/size and order from there. They have the same thing Kirk Engines has except greaseable. It's what I order whenever I replace them on my machines. It's nice being able to grease them. ![]()

They look awfully short!!
You will only have about 3 threads screwed in on each end of the tie rod. At least that's what I have ran into when replacing ends on several of my machines. The older OEM pieces were about 3/8" longer. Only option I can see is to lengthen the rod some. Barely enough thread to get the correct toe in. |

These are longer at 2 1/8" eye to end. The others are 1 5/8". I'll have to measure the old ones when I get home.

I have a set of those heim joints on my 1200. They seem to be lasting much longer than the regular ball joints. I reccomend you get some with grease fittings though.

I put the McMaster rod ends on all my Cyclops Supers and my 1864, they fit and are much more durable, cheaper too. They have them in stock and the shipping is fast. Take a look at this thread it shows the original style vs. the ones from McMaster Carr.

Yup, I liked the idea of grease on them. A few years back I replaced them on my # 1250, really improved steering. Nik

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
