If he doesn't have it priced, that's his fault. Offer him $400. If he laughs, say, "Well, then price it!!!". I wouldn't pay more than $1000. Actually for the shape, I wouldn't give more than $750. He says it runs, yet it has no battery and looks like it's been sitting a while. Maybe the last time he used it it ran......5 years ago.

Welcome to OCC. Hope you get the 782D, looks great. Wait for a price. Those are some cool machines. I'm sure you're have some initial maintenance $$ into it but yes, make sure to see it run, $750 to $1000 seems ok

It would be hard for you to post enough pics for us to tell how much work it needs. Running is a big deal on one of those diesels. If it needs injection parts..... big $$$. Otherwise, just like any other 782.

Hard tell how much work it will need from a pic, i say if it runs and drives ok and you can get it for 750 to 1000 then you'll do good. If your not at least a decent mechanic and it doesnt run right then id walk away, that diesel will get pricey if you have to throw parts at it or pay someone else to work on it.

Do what you can to pick up that machine if it's in good running condition and a fair price. I think you will like it a lot. I just recently bought almost the same machine, an 882 and I love mine.

I NEVER... EVER put a price on someone else's merchandise.
Once you get there, ask him how much he wants for it... No matter what he says, tell him that you can't afford it. Then see where it goes from there. Do not offer him your top dollar until that's all that is left. Good luck!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
